Former Moray Firth Radio presenter Ray Atkinson joins Caravan Radio

Former Moray Firth Radio breakfast show presenter Ray Atkinson has joined Caravan Radio to present a weekend show.

Ray presented shows on Moray Firth back in 1991 with the breakfast show, and then hosted most shows on the station during his time there.
These days Ray works in the leisure industry, leading him to the job at Caravan Radio.
Ray said: “Opportunities like Caravan Radio don’t come along every day, combining my two passions in life and their collective 35 years plus experience, how could I say no when offered the chance to join the team.”
CEO and Head of Programming Mike Osborne said. “Having Ray on board is great news for the station, not only has Ray many years’ of experience in commercial radio but also has a solid background in the leisure industry which makes him a perfect fit with Caravan Radio.”
Ray Atkinson can be heard every Saturday morning from 10am until 1pm.

29 areas announced for Ofcom’s small-scale DAB Round 7

Applications are now open for the seventh round of small-scale DAB radio multiplex licences for 29 areas across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
In total, the small-scale DAB programme will enable the launch of over 100 multiplexes.
So far, 70 multiplexes have launched and the guidance notes for small-scale DAB multiplexes has also been updated for anyone submitting a fresh application.
Ofcom today invites multiplex applications for the following areas:

Arbroath, Carnoustie & Montrose
Bridgwater
Bromsgrove, Kidderminster & Redditch
Cirencester
Ely & March
Enniskillen
Exmouth & Dawlish
Gloucester
Lancaster
Llanelli
Loughborough & Coalville
Malton
Market Harborough
Midlothian
Moray Coast South
Newark-on-Trent
North Berkshire & South Oxfordshire
North Norfolk
North Somerset
Oban
Ringwood, Verwood & Fordingbridge
Rugby & Daventry
Stockton-on-Tees
Wellingborough
West Oxfordshire
West Somerset & Lynton
Western Isles
Weston-super-Mare
Worcester
