Riverside Radio is celebrating 10 years of broadcasting to London this week having launched as Wandsworth Radio on January 12th 2015.
The station has seen many presenters through its doors, including those now on-air at Radio 1, Capital, Virgin and more.
To commemorate its 10th anniversary, the station is launching a charity appeal in support of Sound Vision, its long-time charity partner.
Sound Vision funds the Riverside Radio club for local young people, providing them with the skills and confidence to thrive in media and beyond. The charity appeal aims to raise funds to expand this vital programme, ensuring even more young people benefit from creative opportunities.
Founded by former local BBC presenter Jason Rosam, Riverside Radio has provided a platform for local stories, music, and voices, while supporting aspiring broadcasters through training and mentoring.
Reflecting on the milestone, Jason said: “Ten years ago, we set out to create a station that celebrated the vibrant spirit of Wandsworth. Today, Riverside Radio stands as a testament to the power of community-driven media.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and grateful to everyone who has contributed to our journey. Here’s to the next decade of broadcasting excellence!”
Listeners are invited to join the celebrations by tuning in to a special birthday broadcast on Riverside Breakfast with Jason Rosam and Battersea Power Station featuring highlights from the past decade, interviews with key contributors, and messages from the community. Donations to the charity appeal can be made via the Sound Vision website at soundvision.charity.
