New York Public Radio’s 820 WNYC New York will conduct an all-digital MA3 operational test on Sunday, December 8.
The test will be conducted using WNYC’s 10kW daytime array as well as an hour or two into its 1kW nighttime service. The purpose of the test, which will be conducted alongside Xperi, is said to be two-fold. First the purpose is to evaluate how the MA3 format performs in a major, urban market like New York. Secondly, it will be used to test for interference with another station that operates all-digital, Hubbard’s 820 WSHE Frederick MD.
