FCC Actions
Riverside Communications has agreed to a Consent Decree and will pay a $3400 civil penalty to resolve an unauthorized transfer of control of Classic Country 920 KLMR and Classic Hits “Kool 93.5” KLMR-FM Lamar CO.
Dan Cochell and Kirk Crespin purchased KLMR and KLMR-FM in January 2023 for $30,000 after a microburst destroyed its studios and the AM tower the previous summer. On October 6, 2023, the company filed a transfer of control of Cochell’s 50% stake to Dale Willhite for $65,000. In that filing the contract noted that the Willhite took over his membership stake on September 15, three week prior to the filing and ahead of FCC grant.
The revamped Foreign Sponsorship Identification rules adopted in June have been published in the Federal Register and will become effective on August 15.
