The Hit Network has announced two new shows for its national weekend line up, featuring Nic Kelly and podcasters Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott.Nic will bring his extensive music knowledge to the airwaves in a dedicated music show on Saturday nights.Nic says “It has been a lifelong goal of mine to create a music-focused national radio show. Australian music is so rich, diverse and exciting and I can’t wait to chat with incredible homegrown artists and spotlight their new music each week alongside the big international hits that matter.”Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott from the popular Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki podcast have landed on the airwaves with their very first radio gig.Real and unfiltered, the girls will discuss all the things that would usually be locked-up in your friends’ group chat.“We can’t quite believe that the Hit Network is trusting us with our own national radio show, but we do know that we are going to have a lot of fun making it. David ‘Thirsty’ Morrow to retire from the Continuous Call Team

Legendary sports broadcaster David ‘Thirsty’ Morrow is retiring from his commentary role on the Continuous Call Team (CCT) effective immediately.Close friend and colleague Ray Hadley made the announcement this morning, on behalf of Morrow’s family.Hadley revealed that Morrow was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and will be ceasing all commentary duties to focus on his treatment and spend time with his family and loved ones.“David is not just a work colleague, but a dear friend to everyone at this station and this network”, said Hadley.“He’s a man of some substance. It goes without saying he’s Australia’s most versatile broadcaster.”Luke Davis, 2GB Head of Content, says “For more than five decades, David Morrow’s voice has been the soundtrack of some of the greatest sporting moments Australia and the world has seen. His knowledge and passion for sport has burst through Australian radios each and every weekend – a familiar and iconic sound.”“We have had the honour of having David as part of the Continuous Call Team and Nine Radio family for the past nine years and he’s proven to be immensely popular and much-loved by staff and listeners alike.”Morrow’s media career has spanned 52 years. He started out at the ABC calling cricket and rugby league, and has been a valued member of the 2GB team since 2015, covering nine NRL seasons.In addition, Morrow has covered eight Olympic Games, six Commonwealth Games, and an incredible 44 seasons of first grade NRL.Following Morrow’s retirement, Mark Levy will step up as lead commentator for the Continuous Call Team’s 2024 season. Jase & Lauren to be the new hosts of Nova 100 Breakfast

Huge radio news today, with NOVA Entertainment announcing Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips are to be the new hosts of Nova 100’s new Breakfast show in Melbourne – Jase & Lauren.The former KIIS Breakfast hosts are already well known to Melbourne radio listeners.Nova 100’s current Breakfast show team of Ben, Liam & Belle will host a new national show called Late Drive from 6pm to 8pm weekdays.Nova’s Group Programming Director Brendan Taylor says “Lauren and Jase are world class radio broadcasters and their track record speaks for itself.”Phillips says she is excited to be joining the Nova team: “I’ve been a long time fan of the station.
