FCC Report 12/10: KREV Seeks New Tower Site Ahead Of Sale

FCC Actions
The FCC has entered into a Consent Decree with Willamette Broadcasting Company, Inc. with a $5000 civil penalty due to issues found during their review of the transfer of Conservative Talk 1430 KYKN Keizer/Salem OR from the Estate of Michael O. Frith to Jeffrey Morgan and Patricia Taylor.

The FCC notes that the estate sought to change the distribution of the company’s stock in May 2022, a year after Frith died to give Morgan 94.4% and Taylor 5.6% of the company, which was approved in court in November 2022, but was not filed with the FCC until February 28, 2023 giving the duo control of the station prior to receiving FCC approval.

Jesus Is Lord Ministries International enters into a Consent Decree for its “Explosive Christian Radio” 890 WFKJ Cashtown/Gettysburg PA with a $3000 civil penalty for issues in its license renewal application. WFKJ was due to file its renewal by April 1, 2022, but failed to do so until July 14 of that year. The station also failed to maintain its online public file.

Silent Notifications
After surrendering the license last week after selling its tower site, Entravision’s 710 KBMB Black Canyon City AZ rescinds that request and now asks for a Silent STA instead.
