Magic Radio presenters Tom Price and Kat Shoob will be doing a 12-hour karaoke singalong in aid of Cash for Kids.
On May 2nd the duo will be host The Big Karaoke Party. Throughout the day they will be joined by fellow Magic Radio presenters including Ronan Keating, Harriet Scott, Nicole Appleton and Angellica Bell, plus, special surprise guests.
The event will raise funds for Bauer Audio’s charity, Cash for Kids, and takes place on Cash for Kids Day.
All monies raised will go towards supporting projects that provide meals during school holidays to some of the UK’s most vulnerable children.
The party will kick off in the Magic Breakfast Show where Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott will send Tom and Kat into the Big Karaoke Party room – the entire event will be followed live on-air on Magic Radio and on Magic’s social accounts from 8am on Thursday May 2nd so Magic Radio listeners can listen and watch throughout the day.
Magic Radio Content Director Rachel Mallender said: “Cash for Kids is a cause very close to the hearts of everyone here at Magic Radio and we wanted to do something really special for them for this year’s Cash for Kids Day.
“And for the team here nothing is more fun than a big karaoke party with all of the songs you love for twelve hours at a time – at least that’s what I told Tom, Kat and everyone at Magic.! I can’t wait for May 2nd – and to hear from all of the Magic Radio listeners who have got involved belting out their own favourite karaoke tunes.”
Tom Price said: “My favourite karaoke song to smash out of the park is West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys. I make a point of never looking at the screen because I know every single word. I also can’t really sing so this is all I’ll be doing for the entire 12-hour challenge. Sorry guys but it’s for charity?”
Kat Shoob said: “My karaoke go to would be Gloria Gaynor – I Will Survive, or Weather Girls – It’s Raining Men. They are great songs because anyone can sing them even if not gifted in the singing area. Duet wise it would be a classic You’re The One That I Want, John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John.”
