As we first indicated in our 12/19 Domain Insight report, iHeartMedia has come out of Christmas music on WZDA Beavercreek/Dayton OH with a flip to Country as “103.9 The Bull“.
The station debuted its new format at midnight on Monday with Jordan Davis ft. Luke Bryan “Buy Dirt” and Dierks Bentley “Sideways” kicking off 5,000 songs commercial-free.
WZDA had dropped its previous Alternative “Alt 103.9” brand on November 24 and had been operating as “Christmas 103.9” since.
The move brings a Country outlet back to the iHeartMedia Dayton cluster for the first time since the closing of the donation of the former “B94.5” WYDB Englewood to Delmarva Educational Association last August..
Cox Media Group’s Country “K99.1” WHKO-FM currently leads the Dayton market with a 10.2 share in the November Nielsen Audio ratings. The market also has Alpha Media Classic Country “101.5 Hank-FM” WCLI-FM, which currently has a 1.7 share.
