Delta Media Corporation has expanded its Sports brand from Lafayette LA into Lake Charles.
104.1 KLCJ Oak Grove/Lake Charles has dropped its simulcast of Conservative Talk 1520 KFXZ/98.5 K253CO Lafayette and is now simulcasting Sports “103.7 The Game” KLWB-FM Carencro/Lafayette. The station has rebranded in the process from “Acadiana’s Sports Station” to “Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station”.
The move brings the Sports format back to Lake Charles following Cumulus Media turning in the license of 1580 KXZZ Lake Charles at the end of 2021.
The Game just got bigger. With its top-rated and award-winning lineup of live and local sports talk shows, and serving as an affiliate for both the Houston Astros and LSU Tigers, 103.7 The Game (KLWB) has grown into Acadiana’s Sports Station.
With the station approaching its 10th anniversary, The Game is expanding its reach from Acadiana to Southwest Louisiana. Beginning Monday, February 7, The Game will be heard in both the greater Lafayette and Lake Charles metropolitan areas as the station will be now known as THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles (KLCJ) — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station.
“We have long wanted to expand our station into Lake Charles,” THE GAME’s Brand Manager Raymond Partsch III said. “The Lake Charles area is filled with some of the most passionate sports fans in the state. We are thrilled that we have the opportunity to give those residents live and local sports talk and live sports to enjoy.”
Listeners in both markets will get the same live and local sports talk with such weekday shows as RP3 & Company (6-9a), Footenotes with Kevin Foote (9-11a) and the Jordy Hultberg Show (2-4p). THE GAME also broadcasts the Jim Rome Show (11-2) every weekday, courtesy of CBS Sports Radio. In addition, THE GAME and its personalities will talk about the sports teams you love, including the LSU Tigers, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, McNeese Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Houston Astros and local high schools.
THE GAME will also provide play-by-play coverage of LSU athletics and the Houston Astros. In addition, The Game also broadcasts exciting live NFL action, including this year’s Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals.
Listeners will also be able to listen to THE GAME on the radio dial, they can also listen to Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station on the free Game mobile app on both Android and Apple devices and by enabling your skill on your Alexa device — THE GAME Southwest Louisiana.
